은혜의 상태로 옮겨질 때
When God converts a sinner, and translates him into the state of grace,
하나님께서 죄인을 회심시키시고 은혜의 상태로 옮기실 때,

 

죄의 속박에서의 해방
he freeth him from his natural bondage under sin,
→ 그는 죄 아래에 있던 본래의 속박에서 그를 해방시키시며,

영적 선을 자유롭게 원하고 행할 수 있는 능력의 회복
and, by his grace alone, enables him freely to will and to do that which is spiritually good;
→ 오직 하나님의 은혜로 그가 영적으로 선한 것을 자유롭게 원하고 행할 수 있도록 하신다;

 

몸의 미완성된 구속으로 인해
yet so as that, by reason of his remaining corruption,
→ 몸의 미완성된 구속으로 인해,

불완전한 선에 대한 의지
he doth not perfectly, nor only, will that which is good,
그는 선한 것만을 완전하게 원하지 않으며,

 

여전히 존재하는 악에 대한 의지
but doth also will that which is evil.
악한 것도 또한 원한다.
