1. The Self-Existence and All-Sufficiency of God (스스로 존재하시며 충만하신 하나님)
1-1. 스스로 존재하시며 충만하신 하나님
God hath all life, glory, goodness, blessedness, in and of himself;
하나님은 생명과 영광과 선하심과 복되심을 그 자체 안에, 그분 자신으로부터 가지신다.
and is alone in and unto himself all-sufficient,
그분은 홀로 자존하시며, 스스로 충족하신 분이시다.
1-2. 피조물에 의존하지 않으심
not standing in need of any creatures which he hath made,
그가 창조하신 어떤 피조물도 필요로 하지 않으시며,
nor deriving any glory from them,
그들로부터 어떤 영광도 얻지 않으신다.
1-3. 하나님 영광의 자기 계시
but only manifesting his own glory, in, by, unto, and upon them:
다만 그들을 통해, 그들 안에서, 그들에게, 그들 위에 자신의 영광을 나타내실 뿐이다.
2. The Sovereignty and Dominion of God (하나님의 주권과 통치)
2-1. 만물의 유일한 근원
He is the alone fountain of all being,
그분은 모든 존재의 유일한 근원이시며,
of whom, through whom, and to whom, are all things;
만물이 그로부터 나오고, 그로 말미암고, 그에게로 돌아간다.
2-2. 주권적 통치자
and hath most sovereign dominion over them,
그리고 그분은 만물 위에 가장 주권적인 통치권을 가지신다.
to do by them, for them, or upon them, whatsoever himself pleaseth.
그들을 통해, 그들을 위하여, 또는 그들 위에 자기 뜻대로 행하신다.
3. The Infinite Knowledge and Holiness of God (하나님의 무한한 지식과 거룩함)
3-1. 모든 것을 아시는 하나님
In his sight all things are open and manifest;
그분의 눈앞에서는 모든 것이 드러나고 분명하다.
his knowledge is infinite, infallible, and independent upon the creature,
그의 지식은 무한하고, 오류가 없으며, 피조물에 의존하지 않는다.
so as nothing is to him contingent or uncertain.
그래서 그분께는 아무것도 우연하거나 불확실하지 않다.
3-2. 거룩한 뜻과 행위
He is most holy in all his counsels, in all his works, and in all his commands.
그분은 그 모든 계획과 사역과 명령 가운데 지극히 거룩하시다.
4. The Worship and Obedience Due to God (합당한 경배와 순종의 대상)
4-1. 모든 피조물이 드려야 할 예배
To him is due from angels and men, and every other creature,
하나님께는 천사들과 사람들, 그리고 모든 피조물로부터
4-2. 하나님이 요구하시는 예배와 순종
whatsoever worship, service, or obedience, he is pleased to require of them.
그가 기뻐하셔서 요구하시는 모든 예배와 섬김과 순종이 합당하다.
