1. 첫 사람 아담과 하나님이 맺은 행위 언약
God gave to Adam a law, as a covenant of works
하나님은 아담에게 법을 주셨는데, 이것은 행위 언약입니다.
2. 언약을 주신 목적
by which He bound him and all his posterity to personal, entire, exact, and perpetual obedience
이 행위 언약을 통해 하나님은 아담과 그 후손 모두를 개별적이고, 전체적이며, 정확하고, 영원한 순종에 묶으셨습니다.
3. 행위 언약의 상벌 규정
promised life upon the fulfilling, and threatened death upon the breach of it
이 언약을 완전히 지킬 경우 영원한 생명을 주시겠다고 약속하셨고, 실패할 경우 반드시 죽음이 임할 것이라고 경고하셨습니다.
4. 언약을 지킬 힘과 능력을 주심
and endued him with power and ability to keep it
하나님은 아담에게 이 언약을 지킬 힘과 능력도 부여하셨습니다.
