1. 오실 그리스도에 관한 구약의 예표들

This covenant was differently administered in the time of the law, and in the time of the gospel;
이 언약은 율법의 시대와 복음의 시대에 서로 다른 방식으로 시행되었습니다.

 

under the law it was administered by promises, prophecies, sacrifices, circumcision, the paschal lamb, and other types and ordinances delivered to the people of the Jews, all foresignifying Christ to come,
율법 아래에서는 유대 백성에게 주어진 약속들과 예언들, 제사 제도, 할례, 유월절 어린양, 그리고 기타 예표들과 규례들을 통해 시행되었으며, 이 모든 것은 장차 오실 그리스도를 예표하는 것이었습니다.

 

2. 성령의 역사를 통한 구속의 성취

which were for that time sufficient and efficacious, through the operation of the Spirit, to instruct and build up the elect in faith in the promised Messiah,
이것들은 성령의 역사로 말미암아, 당시의 선택받은 자들에게 약속된 메시아에 대한 믿음을 가르치고 세우는 데 충분하고 효과적인 수단이었습니다.

 

by whom they had full remission of sins, and eternal salvation; and is called the Old Testament.
그들이 바로 그분을 통해 완전한 죄 사함과 영원한 구원을 받았으며, 이 언약은 ‘구약’이라 불립니다.
