죄책의 본질

Every sin, both original and actual,
원죄와 자범죄를 포함한 모든 죄는

being a transgression of the righteous law of God, and contrary thereunto,
하나님의 공의로운 법을 어기는 것이며, 그 법에 반대되는 속성을 지니므로,

doth, in its own nature, bring guilt upon the sinner,
그 자체의 본성상 죄인에게 죄책을 가져오며, 

 

죄책으로 인한 형벌

whereby he is bound over to the wrath of God, and curse of the law,
그 결과로 죄인은 하나님의 진노와 율법의 저주 아래 얽매이게 되고,

and so made subject to death,
그리하여 죽음에 종속되며,

with all miseries spiritual, temporal, and eternal.
모든 영적, 일시적, 그리고 영원한 비참함을 겪게 된다.
