심판을 인식하며 사는 것의 유익

1) To Deter Men from Sin

사람들이 죄로부터 멀리하게 하기 위해

both to deter all men from sin,
사람들이 죄로부터 멀리하게 하고,

2) To Give Greater Consolation to the Godly

경건한 자들에게 위로를 주기 위해

and for the greater consolation of the godly in their adversity:
경건한 자들이 역경 속에서 더욱 큰 위로를 얻게 하기 위함이며,

3) To Prevent Pursuit of Carnal Security in This Life

이 땅에서 육신의 안위를 추구하지 않게 하기 위해

so will He have that day unknown to men,
예수 그리스도는 사람들에게서 그 날을 숨겨 두심으로,

that they may shake off all carnal security,

and be always watchful,

because they know not at what hour the Lord will come;
주님의 오실 시간에 대해 모르기 때문에,

and may be ever prepared to say, Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly. Amen.
‘오시옵소서, 주 예수여, 속히 오시옵소서, 아멘’이라는 고백을 갖추어 살게 하려는 것이다.
