우리는 종종 묻습니다.
“어떻게 하나님의 공동체가 이렇게까지 무너질 수 있을까?”

시편 12편은 그 질문에 대한 답을 제시합니다.
문제는 단순히 세상이 아니라,
무엇을 기준으로 살아가느냐에 있습니다.

2. 사람의 말이 기준이 될 때

사람들은 말합니다.
“우리가 우리 혀로 이기리라. 누가 우리를 주관하리요?”

이 말 속에는 하나님 없이도 살 수 있다는 교만이 담겨 있습니다.
그 결과는 분명합니다.

• 거짓이 넘쳐납니다.

• 아첨이 관계를 무너뜨립니다.

• 진실은 점점 사라집니다.

하나님의 공동체조차
하나님의 말씀 대신 사람의 말과 영향력을 따르기 시작할 때
서서히 무너집니다.

3. 하나님의 말씀은 왜 다른가

이어지는 고백이 이 시의 중심입니다.

{주}의 말씀들은 순수한 말씀들이니 흙 도가니에서 정제하여 일곱 번 순수하게 만든 은 같도다.

사람의 말은 변합니다.
상황에 따라 바뀌고, 이해관계에 따라 왜곡됩니다.

그러나 하나님의 말씀은 다릅니다.

• 거짓이 전혀 없습니다.

• 왜곡되지 않습니다.

• 완전히 신실합니다.

절대적으로 신뢰할 수 있는 진리입니다.

4. 하나님이 일어나시는 이유

하나님은 침묵하고 계신 분이 아닙니다.

{주}께서 말씀하시기를, 가난한 자의 학대받는 것과 궁핍한 자의 탄식하는 것으로 인하여 이제 내가 일어나 그를 향해 우쭐대는 자로부터 그를 떼 내어 안전하게 두리라, 하시는도다.

하나님이 일어나시는 이유는 분명합니다.

• 억눌린 자들의 고통을 들으시기 때문입니다.

• 고통 속에 있는 자들을 외면하지 않으시기 때문입니다.

하나님의 말씀의 순수함은 단지 이론이 아니라,
고통받는 자들을 향한 실제적인 개입으로 나타납니다.

5. 하나님은 말씀대로 지키신다

그래서 하나님은 단지 말씀만 하시는 분이 아닙니다.
그 말씀을 반드시 이루시는 분입니다.

오 {주}여, 주께서 그것들을 지키시며 주께서 그것들을 이 세대로부터 영원히 보존하시리이다.

세상이 아무리 흔들려도
하나님은 말씀에 속한 사람들을 지키십니다.

6. 변하지 않는 현실, 흔들리지 않는 진리

현실은 여전히 어렵습니다.

• 비열한 자들이 높아집니다.

• 악한 자들이 활보합니다.

그러나 한 가지는 변하지 않습니다.

7. 우리의 선택

그래서 중요한 질문은 이것입니다.

“세상이 왜 이렇게 되었는가?”가 아니라,
“나는 무엇을 기준으로 살고 있는가?”

• 사람의 말입니까?

• 하나님의 말씀입니까?

8. 결론: 단 하나의 길

타락한 시대를 이기는 방법은 복잡하지 않습니다.

순수한 하나님의 말씀을 붙드는 것입니다.

그 말씀이 기준이 될 때
우리는 무너지지 않고,
하나님께서 친히 지키시는 삶을 살게 됩니다.

나는 삶의 위기나 결정의 순간에 사람의 말(분위기, 인정, 이익)에 쉽게 흔들립니까? 아니면 변하지 않는 하나님의 말씀을 절대적인 기준으로 삼고 있습니까?

2. 현실 속에서 평안 누리기 (흔들리지 않는 진리)

악인이 득세하고 현실이 여전히 불의해 보일 때, 나는 무엇에 흔들립니까? 세상이 아무리 흔들려도 하나님께서 친히 말씀을 이루시고 그 말씀에 속한 자를 지키신다는 사실에서 참된 평안을 누리고 있습니까?

3. 결단과 적용 (단 하나의 길)

오늘 혼탁한 세상 속에서 내가 타협 없이 굳게 붙들어야 할 '단 하나의 말씀'은 무엇입니까? 그 말씀을 내 삶의 기준으로 삼기 위해 오늘 당장 실천할 수 있는 한 가지 행동은 무엇입니까?

The One Thing to Hold On to in a Corrupt Age

1. A Question About a Broken Community

We often ask,
“How can the community of God become so corrupt?”

Psalm 12 gives us the answer.
The problem is not simply the world,
but what we choose as our standard.

2. When Human Words Become the Standard

People say,
“With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?” (KJV)

This reveals a pride that seeks to live without God.
The result is clear.

• Lies abound.

• Flattery destroys relationships.

• Truth gradually disappears.

Even the community of God
begins to collapse
when it follows human words and influence
instead of the Word of God.

3. Why God’s Word Is Different

This confession stands at the center of the psalm:

“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” (KJV)

Human words change.
They shift with circumstances and are distorted by self-interest.

But God’s Word is different.

• It contains no falsehood.

• It is never distorted.

• It is completely faithful.

It is truth that can be trusted absolutely.

4. Why God Arises

God is not silent.

“For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.” (KJV)

God arises for a reason.

• Because He hears the suffering of the oppressed.

• Because He does not ignore those in pain.

The purity of God’s Word is not theoretical.
It is revealed through His active intervention for the afflicted.

5. God Keeps According to His Word

God does not merely speak.
He fulfills what He has spoken.

“Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” (KJV)

No matter how unstable the world becomes,
God preserves those who belong to His Word.

6. Unchanging Reality, Unshakable Truth

Reality is still difficult.

• The vile are exalted.

• The wicked walk on every side.

Yet one thing does not change.

God’s Word never fails.

7. Our Choice

So the real question is this:

Not, “Why has the world become like this?”
but, “What is my standard?”

• Human words?

• Or the Word of God?

8. Conclusion: The One Way

Overcoming a corrupt age is not complicated.

It is holding firmly to the pure Word of God.

When that Word becomes our standard,
we will not be shaken,
and God Himself will keep us.
