복 있는 사람은
악인의 생각을 따라 걷지 않고,
죄인의 길에 서지 않으며,
조롱하는 자의 자리에 앉지 않습니다.

왜냐하면
그가 더 절제력이 있어서가 아닙니다.
그가 더 도덕적으로 강해서도 아닙니다.

오히려
그의 기쁨이
여호와의 율법에 있기 때문입니다.

그의 마음이
이미 다른 곳에 있기 때문에,
그의 발걸음이
다른 방향으로 향하는 것입니다.

그는 억지로
세상의 길을 거절하는 사람이 아니라,
더 좋은 것을 사랑하기 때문에
그 길을 선택하지 않는 사람입니다.

그래서 그는
악한 길을 피하려고 애쓰는 사람이 아니라,
말씀 안에 머물며
밤낮으로 그것을 되새기는 사람입니다.

복 있는 사람은
말씀을 묵상해서
복을 얻은 사람이 아니라,

말씀을 기쁨으로 삼는 사람이기에
묵상하는 삶을 살게 되고,
그 결과
다른 길에 서지 않게 되는 사람입니다.

이것이
시편 1편 2절이 말하는
복 있는 사람의 모습입니다.

The blessed person
does not walk in the thoughts of the wicked,
does not stand in the path of sinners,
and does not sit in the seat of scoffers.

This is not because
he has greater self-control,
nor because
he is morally stronger than others.

Rather,
it is because his delight
is in the law of the Lord.

Because his heart
already belongs elsewhere,
his steps
move in a different direction.

He does not reject
the ways of the world by force;
he does not choose them
because he loves something better.

Therefore,
he is not someone
who struggles merely to avoid evil,
but someone
who remains in the Word
and meditates on it day and night.

The blessed person
does not become blessed
by meditating on the Word.

He lives a life of meditation
because he delights in the Word,
and as a result,
he does not stand on a different path.

This is
the picture of the blessed person
described in Psalm 1:2.
