우리는 어떻게 거듭나는가?
서론
사람들은 삶을 변화시키기 위해 교육을 받고, 훈련을 하고, 환경을 바꿉니다. 하지만 성경은 사람이 근본적으로 변화되려면 다시 태어나야 한다고 말합니다. 이것이 바로 '거듭남(중생)'입니다. 그렇다면 우리는 어떻게 거듭날 수 있을까요? 베드로 사도는 오늘 본문을 통해 거듭남이 우리의 노력이 아닌 삼위일체 하나님의 놀라운 협력으로 이루어짐을 보여줍니다.
본론
1. 하나님의 '긍휼'로 시작됩니다
"하나님 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지를 찬송하리로다. 그분께서 자신의 풍성하신 긍휼에 따라"(3a)

우리가 거듭난 것은 우리가 거룩하거나 자격이 있어서가 아닙니다. 전적으로 하나님의 '많으신 긍휼' 때문입니다.

'긍휼'은 비참한 상태에 있는 자를 불쌍히 여겨 돕는 마음입니다. 죄로 인해 죽어 소망 없던 우리를 하나님께서 먼저 사랑하시고 불쌍히 여기셨기에 거듭남의 역사가 시작되었습니다.

나의 구원을 나의 행위에서 찾지 마십시오. 오직 변치 않는 아버지 하나님의 긍휼하심이 우리 거듭남의 뿌리입니다.
2. 예수님의 '부활'로 성취되었습니다
"죽은 자들로부터 예수 그리스도를 부활하게 하심으로 우리를 다시 낳으사 산 소망에 이르게 하셨으며"(3b)

하나님의 긍휼은 막연한 감정이 아닙니다. 예수 그리스도의 부활이라는 확실한 사건을 통해 증명되었습니다.

죽음은 모든 소망을 끊어버립니다. 그러나 예수님은 죽음을 이기고 다시 사셨습니다. 우리가 예수님과 연합할 때, 그분의 부활 생명이 우리 안에 들어와 우리를 죄와 사망에서 건져내어 새 생명으로 태어나게 합니다.

3. 하나님의 '말씀'으로 심겨집니다
"너희가 다시 태어난 것은 썩을 씨에서 난 것이 아니요 썩지 아니할 씨에서 난 것이니 살아 있고 영원히 거하는 [하나님]의 말씀으로 된 것이니라.(23절)

이 놀라운 생명은 '말씀'이라는 씨앗을 통해 우리 영혼에 심겨집니다.

세상의 혈통(썩어질 씨)은 영원한 생명을 주지 못합니다. 그러나 복음의 말씀은 '살아 있고 항상 있는 씨앗'입니다. 성령께서 말씀을 우리 마음에 깨닫게 하실 때, 그 말씀이 싹을 틔워 우리를 영적으로 다시 태어나게 합니다.

말씀을 듣고 읽는 자리를 소중히 여기십시오. 말씀이 들려질 때 생명의 역사가 일어납니다.

우리는하나님의 긍휼 덕분에, 예수 그리스도의 부활을 힘입어, 진리의 말씀을 통해 거듭났습니다. 이 완벽한 하나님의 역사로 인해 우리는 이제 썩어질 세상의 소망이 아닌, '산 소망'을 가진 자가 되었습니다. 이 거듭난 생명의 기쁨을 가지고 오늘을 승리하며 살아가는 성도님들 되시기를 바랍니다.
How Are We Born Again?
Introduction
People receive education, undergo training, and change their environments to change their lives. However, the Bible says that for a person to change fundamentally, they must be born again. This is 'Regeneration' (being born again). So, how can we be born again? Through today's text, the Apostle Peter shows that regeneration is accomplished not by our efforts but by the amazing cooperation of the Triune God.
1. It Begins with God's 'Mercy'
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy..." (1 Peter 1:3a)
We are born again not because we are holy or qualified. It is entirely because of God's "abundant mercy." 'Mercy' is the heart that pities and helps those in a miserable state. Because God first loved and pitied us, who were dead in sin and hopeless, the work of regeneration began. Do not look for your salvation in your own deeds. Only the unchanging mercy of God the Father is the root of our regeneration.
2. It Is Accomplished through Jesus' 'Resurrection'
"...hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," (1 Peter 1:3b)
God's mercy is not a vague emotion. It was proven through the certain event of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Death cuts off all hope. However, Jesus overcame death and rose again. When we are united with Jesus, His resurrection life enters us, delivering us from sin and death and causing us to be born into a new life. Just as Jesus' resurrection is a historical fact, our regeneration is also a certain fact that cannot be cancelled.
3. It Is Planted by God's 'Word'
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (1 Peter 1:23)
This amazing life is planted in our souls through the seed called the 'Word'. Worldly lineage (corruptible seed) cannot give eternal life. However, the Word of the Gospel is the 'living and abiding seed'. When the Holy Spirit makes us realize the Word in our hearts, that Word sprouts and causes us to be born again spiritually. Cherish the place where you hear and read the Word. When the Word is heard, the work of life takes place.
Conclusion
We have been born again thanks to God's mercy, by the power of Jesus Christ's resurrection, and through the Word of truth. Because of this perfect work of God, we have now become those who possess a 'lively hope', not the hope of the world that will perish. I hope you become saints who live victoriously today with this joy of born-again life.
