1. 자유를 변명의 수단으로 삼지 말라

They who, upon pretence of Christian liberty,
그리스도인의 자유를 핑계 삼아

do practice any sin,
어떤 죄를 지속적으로 범하거나

or cherish any lust,
타락한 육체에서 나오는 욕망을 즐기면

do thereby destroy the end of Christian liberty;
이는 그리스도인의 자유의 참된 목적을 훼손하는 것입니다.

 

2. 그리스도인의 자유의 목적

which is,
신자의 자유의 목적은

that, being delivered out of the hands of our enemies,
원수들의 손에서 구원받은 우리가

we might serve the Lord
주님을 섬기되

without fear,
두려움 없이

in holiness
거룩하게

and righteousness before Him,
그분 앞에서 의롭게

all the days of our life.
우리의 전 생애 동안 섬기는 것입니다.
