The most wise, righteous, and gracious God sometimes leaves His own children for a season to face various trials and the corruption of their own hearts,
가장 지혜롭고, 의롭고, 은혜로우신 하나님께서는 때때로 자신의 자녀들이 다양한 시험과 자기 마음의 타락을 경험하도록 잠시 남겨두십니다.

 

2. 죄에 대한 징계

Chastisement for Former Sins
to chastise them for their former sins,
이는 그들의 과거 죄를 징계하시기 위함이며,

 

3. 마음 속 죄의 실체를 드러내심

Revealing the Hidden Power of Sin and Deceitfulness of the Heart
or to reveal to them the hidden power of sin and the deceitfulness of their hearts,
또는 그들 마음속에 숨겨진 죄의 강한 영향력과 속임수를 드러내어 깨닫게 하시기 위함이며,

4. 겸손하게 하심

To Humble Them
so that they may be humbled,
그로 인해 그들이 겸손해지도록 하시기 위함이며,

 

5. 더 깊은 의존으로 이끄심

Leading Them to Greater Dependence on God
and to draw them into a closer and more constant dependence on Him for support,
하나님의 도우심을 더욱 가까이하고 지속적으로 의지하도록 이끄시기 위함이며,

 

6. 유혹에 대한 경계심 훈련

Training Them to Be Watchful Against Temptation)
and to make them more watchful against future temptations to sin,
앞으로 닥칠 죄의 유혹에 대해 더욱 깨어 경계하도록 하시기 위함이며,

 

7. 그 외의 거룩한 목적들

Other Just and Holy Purposes
and for various other just and holy purposes.
그리고 그 밖의 여러 가지 의롭고 거룩한 목적들을 이루시기 위함입니다.
