1. 모든 피조물을 보존하시는 하나님

God, the great Creator of all things, doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least.
만물의 위대한 창조자이신 하나님은 모든 피조물과 그 행위와 사물을 가장 크고 위대한 것에서부터 가장 작고 보잘것없는 것까지 유지·인도·배치·통치하십니다.

 

2. 보존의 방식: 무오한 섭리로 이뤄지는 유지와 통치

By his most wise and holy providence, according to his infallible foreknowledge, and the free and immutable counsel of his own will.
하나님은 지극히 지혜롭고 거룩하신 섭리에 따라, 그의 확실한 예지와 자유롭고 변치 않는 뜻의 계획에 의거하여 모든 것을 유지·인도·배치·통치하십니다.

 

3. 보존의 목적: 하나님의 지혜·능력·공의를 찬양케 함

To the praise of the glory of his wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy.
하나님께서 이 세상을 보존하시는 목적은 그분의 지혜와 능력과 공의와 선하심과 긍휼의 영광을 찬양하게 하시기 위함입니다.
