1. 인간의 창조

After God had made all other creatures,
하나님께서 다른 모든 피조물을 만드신 후,
he created man, male and female, with reasonable and immortal souls.
이성적이며 불멸의 영혼을 지닌 남자와 여자를 창조하셨습니다.

 

2. 하나님의 형상: 하나님의 성품을 부분적으로 가짐 

endued with knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness, after his own image,
하나님의 형상대로 지식과 의로움과 참된 거룩함을 입혀 지으셨습니다.

 

3. 율법 준수 능력

Having the Law written in their hearts, and power to fulfill it;
그들의 마음에 하나님의 법을 기록하시고, 그 법을 온전히 지킬 능력을 주셨습니다.

 

4. 자유의지와 행위 언약

and yet under a possibility of transgressing, being left to the liberty of their own will, which was subject unto change;
변할 수 있는 자유의지에 맡기심으로 범죄할 가능성도 허락하셨습니다.
Besides this law written in their hearts, they received a command not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil;
마음에 기록된 법 외에 ‘선악을 알게 하는 나무’의 열매를 먹지 말라는 명령도 주셨습니다.

 

5. 교제와 지배권

which while they kept they were happy in their communion with God, and had dominion over the creatures.
그 명령을 지키는 동안 하나님과 교제하며 행복을 누렸고, 모든 피조물을 다스리는 권세를 가졌습니다.
