창세전에 택함  

Those of mankind that are predestinated unto life,
영원한 생명을 얻기로 예정된 자들은,

God, before the foundation of the world was laid,
하나님께서 세상이 창조되기 전에,

according to his eternal and immutable purpose,
그의 영원하고 변함없는 목적에 따라,

and the secret counsel and good pleasure of his will,
그의 뜻의 비밀스러운 계획과 기쁨에 따라,

 

그리스도 안에서 택함

hath chosen in Christ unto everlasting glory,
그리스도 안에서 영원한 영광을 위하여 택하셨으며,

out of his mere free grace and love,
그의 전적인 자유로운 은혜와 사랑으로,

without any foresight of faith or good works, or perseverance in either of them,
믿음이나 선한 행위나 그 어느 것도 지속하는 것을 미리 보심 없이,

or any other thing in the creature, as conditions, or causes moving him thereunto;
피조물 안에 있는 어떠한 조건이나 원인도 없이,

 

택하심의 목적  

and all to the praise of his glorious grace.
이 모든 것은 그의 영광스러운 은혜를 찬양하기 위함입니다.
