The whole counsel of God, concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man’s salvation, faith, and life,

is either expressly set down in Scripture,
성경에 명백히 기록되어 있거나
or by good and necessary consequence may be deduced from Scripture:
혹은 성경으로부터 타당하고 필연적인 결론으로 도출될 수 있다.
2. Completeness of Revelation and Caution Against Human Tradition (계시의 완결성과 사람의 전통에 대한 경계)
unto which nothing at any time is to be added, whether by new revelations of the Spirit, or traditions of men.
이에 대해서는 성령의 새로운 계시든, 사람의 전통이든 어떠한 것도 어떤 때에도 더해서는 안 된다.
3. Necessity of the Spirit’s Illumination (성령의 조명이 필요한 이유)
Nevertheless we acknowledge the inward illumination of the Spirit of God to be necessary
그럼에도 우리는 하나님의 영의 내적인 조명이 반드시 필요하다는 것을 인정한다.
for the saving understanding of such things as are revealed in the Word;
곧 말씀 안에 계시된 것들을 구원에 이르도록 바르게 이해하기 위해서이다.
4. Practical Application in Worship and Church Life (교회 생활과 예배의 실제적 적용)
and that there are some circumstances concerning the worship of God, and the government of the church,
그리고 하나님의 예배와 교회의 운영에 관한 몇몇 구체적인 상황들이 있는데
common to human actions and societies,
이것들은 인간의 행위와 사회 전반에 공통적으로 나타나는 것들이다.
5. Practice According to Scriptural Principles (성경 원칙에 따라 실천되어야 함)
which are to be ordered by the light of nature and Christian prudence,
이러한 것들은 자연의 빛과 기독교적 분별력에 따라 정돈되어야 하며
according to the general rules of the Word, which are always to be observed.
항상 지켜야 할 성경의 일반 원칙에 따라야 한다.
