말씀이 참됨을 고백합니다.
A Christian believeth to be true whatsoever is revealed in the Word,
그리스도인은 말씀에 계시된 모든 것을 참되다고 믿습니다.

말씀의 권위를 인정합니다.
for the authority of God Himself speaking therein;
이는 하나님께서 친히 말씀하셨기에 권위가 있기 때문입니다.

명령의 말씀들에 순종하는 삶을 삽니다.
and acteth differently upon that which each particular passage thereof containeth,
말씀의 각 구절이 담고 있는 바에 따라 삶을 달리하며,
yielding obedience to the commands,
하나님의 명령에는 순종합니다.

두려움으로 죄악을 멀리합니다.
trembling at the threatenings,
하나님의 경고의 말씀 앞에서는 두려워하며 죄를 멀리합니다.

하나님의 약속을 믿습니다.
and embracing the promises of God for this life and that which is to come.
현재의 삶과 오는 세상에 대한 하나님의 약속을 붙잡고 믿습니다.

예수 그리스도만이 오직 자신의 구주임을 고백합니다.
But the principal acts of saving faith
그러나 구원 얻는 믿음의 가장 본질적인 행위는
are accepting, receiving, and resting upon Christ alone
예수 그리스도 한 분만을 받아들이고, 영접하며, 그분 안에 안식하는 것입니다.

모든 것이 은혜임을 알고 찬양합니다.
for justification, sanctification, and eternal life, by virtue of the covenant of grace.
이는 은혜 언약 안에서 주어지는 칭의, 성화, 그리고 영생을 위한 것이며, 모든 것은 은혜로 이루어집니다.
