오늘날 사역자들은 여러 가지 어려움에 직면해 있습니다. 그 중 하나가 탈진입니다. 사역의 열매는 커지지만, 내면의 성령 충만과 안식 없이 사역을 계속하다 보면, 결국 몸과 마음이 지치게 됩니다. 또한, 은밀한 죄나 타락의 문제도 존재합니다. 외적으로 사역은 왕성하게 이루어지지만, 자신의 내면을 점검하지 않으면 죄에 빠질 위험이 큽니다. 또, 은혜 없이 기계적으로 사역을 이어가는 경우, 성령의 인도 없이 의무감만 남게 됩니다.
다윗은 이러한 상황을 충분히 알았기에, 성령님의 자유로운 영으로 자신을 떠받쳐 주시기를 간절히 기도했습니다. 바울 또한 자신의 내면을 정직하게 점검하며, 사역을 하면서도 자신이 끝까지 하나님 앞에서 온전하게 살아가길 원했습니다.

Hidden sins and moral failure are also real issues. Ministry may seem outwardly successful, but if one does not examine their inner life, there is great danger of falling into sin.
Furthermore, when ministry continues without grace, it becomes mechanical and burdensome, lacking the willing guidance of the Spirit.
David understood this well. Therefore, he earnestly prayed that the Holy Spirit would uphold him with a willing (free) spirit. Paul also kept his own heart in check, desiring not only to serve but to remain blameless before God to the very end.

We all must live like David, upheld daily by the willing Spirit of God. In ministry, there is always a danger of losing grace and serving mechanically.
