하나님의 사람
“(다윗의 시) {주}여, 누가 주의 장막에 머무르리이까? 누가 주의 거룩한 산에 거하리이까? (1)”
“거룩한 산”은 예루살렘의 시온 산일 것입니다.
“주의 장막”은 성전을 의미할 것입니다.
이 두 단어는 주님의 임재를 의미합니다.
신약 시대의 주님의 임재는 우리 안에 있습니다.
주님의 임재 안에 있는 자는 하나님의 사람입니다.
고린도전서 3:16
“너희가 [하나님]의 성전인 것과 [하나님]의 [영]께서 너희 안에 거하시는 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐?”
하나님의 영이 거하시는 자는 하나님의 사람입니다.
하나님의 사람의 특징
1. 개인의 경건
1) 곧바르게
“곧바르게 걷고 의를 행하며 마음속으로 진리를 말하는 자,”
“곧바르게” 단어는 ‘죄가 없는’ 혹은 ‘비난받을’ 것이 없는이라는 의미입니다.
이 단어는 창세기 6장 9절에서 “노아”에게 사용된 단어입니다.
노아의 삶이 완전한 것은 아닙니다.
노아의 삶이 ‘비난받지’ 않을 수 있었던 것은 그가 하나님이 자신에게 주신 사명을 붙들고 살았습니다.
하나님의 뜻을 구하고, 하나님의 뜻 대로 살고자 했습니다.
이런 삶이 하나님의 사람의 특징입니다.
2) 의를 행하며
의는 “righteousness”입니다.
옮음의 기준은 사람에게 없습니다.
옮음의 기준은 오직 하나님에게만 있습니다.
하나님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 율법을 주셨습니다.
하나님께서 신약의 백성들에게도 성경을 주셨습니다.
하나님께서 주신 말씀 대로 사는 것이 “의를 행하며” 사는 것입니다.
3) “마음속으로 진리를 말하는 자”
“마음 속으로 진리를 말하는 자”는 겉과 속이 다른 자가 아닙니다.
바리새인과 같이 외식하는 자가 아닙니다.
하나님의 사람의 삶은 내면에서부터 출발합니다.
그가 진리라 믿는 말씀 안에서 삶은 형성됩니다.
우리의 생각과 가치관과 우리의 외면적 삶은 무관하지 않습니다.
2. 이웃과의 관계 속에서 경건
1) 혀로 헐뜯지 아니하며
이런 삶은 돌아다니며 계속 다른 사람의 이야기를 하는 것을 말합니다.
어떤 일을 혼자만 알고, 기도해 주며, 하나님의 뜻을 구하는 것이 아니라, 신이 나서 돌아다니며 퍼트리기를 좋아한다는 의미입니다.
2) 자기 이웃에게 악을 행하지 아니하고
“악을 행하다”는 의미는 말로서 상대방을 심하게 비난하고, 비판하는 것을 의미합니다.
트집을 잡아 거부하고 불편할 정도로 따지는 것을 의미합니다.
3) 자기 이웃을 모욕하지 아니하며
모욕감을 주는 것을 의미합니다.
상대방에게 심한 모멸감을 느끼게 하는 것입니다.
4)자기 눈으로 비열한 자를 멸시하되
“비열한”의 의미는 ‘reject’거절하다는 의미입니다.
하나님의 뜻대로 살기를 거절하는 자, 하나님을 두려워하는 것을 거절하는 자는 비열한 자입니다.
5) {주}를 두려워하는 자들을 존경하는 자,
6) 맹세한 것은 자기에게 해로울지라도 바꾸지 아니하는 자,
“바꾸다”, ‘change’ 단어는 제사에 관련이 있습니다.
레위기 27:10
“그는 그것을 변경하여 나쁜 것 대신 좋은 것으로 혹은 좋은 것 대신 나쁜 것으로 바꾸지 못할 것이요, 혹시 그가 짐승을 짐승으로 바꾸면 그것과 또 그것을 대체한 것이 다 거룩하게 되리라.”
하나님께 드려야 할 것은 아무리 손해가 되어도 바꾸지 않는 것입니다.
또한, 이 단어는 ‘신들을 바꾸다’(예레미야 2:11)에서도 사용됩니다.
어떠한 시련과 손해가 뒤따르더라도, 일편단심, 하나님을 향한 지조를 잃지 않는 것입니다.
7) 이자를 받으려고 자기 돈을 내주지 아니하며
‘이자를 받다’라는 말의 의미는 현대의 ‘고리대금’, ‘사채’의 의미로 해석될 수 있습니다.
하나님은 가난한 자들에게 고리대금을 통해 그들이 가진 전부를 가져가는 것을 금하는 것입니다.
8) 죄 없는 자를 쳐서 대가를 받지 아니하는 자이오니
이 구절의 의미는 ‘죄 없는 자’, ‘무고한 자’을 쳐달라는 뇌물을 받고 실행에 옮기는 것입니다.
아무 죄 없는 사람을 뇌물을 받고 괴롭히는 것을 말합니다.
9) 이런 일들을 행하는 자는 결코 흔들리지 아니하리이다.
“흔들리다” 말의 의미는 ‘미끄러지다’, 어린아이와 같이 걷다’, ‘흔들리다’의 의미를 가집니다.
하나님의 사람은 흔들리지 않고, 비틀거지리 않고, 미끄러지지 않고 그의 삶의 길을 하나님 앞에서 살아냅니다.
우리의 신앙은 우리의 삶과 분리될 수 없습니다.
우리가 참 신앙인이라면 신앙인의 바른 삶의 모습들이 나아야 합니다.
오늘 시편은 하나님의 사람의 특징들을 보여주고 있습니다.
오늘 우리가 이 하나님의 사람의 특징을 마음에 새기고, 실천하며 살 수 있으면 좋겠습니다.
"Characteristics of God's People: Exemplars of Righteous Living"
God's People
“Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? (1)"
The "holy hill" likely refers to Mount Zion in Jerusalem. The "tabernacle of the Lord" would signify the temple. These two words signify the presence of the Lord. In the New Testament era, the tabernacle of the Lord is within us.
1 Corinthians 3:16
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"
One in whom the Spirit of God dwells is a person of God.
Characteristics of God's People
1. Personal Piety
1) Uprightly
"He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart."
"The word 'uprightly' means 'blameless' or 'without reproach'. This word is used for "Noah" in Genesis 6:9. Noah's life was not perfect. What made Noah's life without reproach was that he lived holding onto the commandment God gave him. He sought God's will and wanted to live according to God's will. Such a life is the characteristic of a person of God.
2) Worketh righteousness
The standard of righteousness is not in humans but only in God. God gave the law to the Israelites. God also gave the Bible to the people of the New Testament. Living according to the word given by God is "workth righteousness".
3) "Speaketh the truth in his heart"
"A person who speaks the truth in his heart" is not a person with a difference between inside and outside. It is not someone who is hypocritical like the Pharisees. The life of a person of God starts from the inside. Life is formed within the word believed to be true. Our thoughts, values, and our outward lives are not unrelated.
2. Piety in Relationships with Neighbors
1) “He that backbiteth not with his tongue,”
This life means continuing to tell other people's stories. It means going around and spreading what you know instead of praying and seeking God's will but liking to go out and spread the word.
2) doeth evil to his neighbour,
"Doeth evil" means harshly condemning and criticizing others with words. It means refusing and refusing to be uncomfortable to take hold of.
3) taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
It means giving offense. It means making the other person feel severe insult.
4) In whose eyes a vile person is contemned;
The meaning of "vile" is 'reject'. Rejecting to live according to God's will, rejecting to fear God is a vile person.
5) he honoureth them that fear the LORD
6) He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
The word 'change' is related to sacrifice.
Leviticus 27:10
“He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy”.
What must be offered to God is not changed, even if it is detrimental to oneself. Also, this word is used in 'change gods' (Jeremiah 2:11). It means not to lose one's steadfastness toward God, even if trials and losses follow.
7) He that putteth not out his money to usury,
“usury” means the illegal action or practice of lending money at unreasonably high rates of interest. God forbids taking everything from the poor through usury.
8) taketh reward against the innocent.
The meaning of this passage is to accept a bribe to beat the innocent and carry it out. It means harassing someone who has no sin.
9) He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
The meaning of "moved" means 'slip', 'walk like a child', 'move'. A person of God does not waver, does not twist, does not slip, but lives his life in front of God.
Our faith cannot be separated from our lives. If we are truly believers, the righteous life of believers should improve. Today's psalm shows the characteristics of God's people. I hope we can engrave these characteristics of God's people in our hearts and live them out today.
