That doctrine which maintains a change of the substance of bread and wine, into the substance of Christ’s body and blood 빵과 포도주가 그리스도의 몸과 피로 실제로 변화되었다고 주장하는 교리는

 

(commonly called transubstantiation) 이는 흔히 화체설이라고 불리는데

 

by consecration of a priest, or by any other way, 신부나 다른 어떤 방식에 의해서 (행해질 때)

 

1. 성경적이지 않음 

is repugnant, not to Scripture alone, 성경적이지도 않으며

 

2. 상식적이거나 이성적이지도 않음 

but even to common-sense and reason; 상식적이지 않고 이성적이지 않으며

 

3. 성찬의 본질을 뒤엎음  

overthroweth the nature of the sacrament; 성찬의 본질을 뒤엎는 것이며

 

4. 미신들과 우상숭배의 온상 

and hath been, and is, the cause of manifold superstitions, yea, of gross idolatries. 수많은 미신들과 우상숭배의 원인들이 되어 왔으며 현재도 그러합니다.
