[웨스트민스터신앙고백 29-2] 주의 만찬의 영적인 의미, The Spiritual Significance of the Lord’s Supper

In this sacrament (주의 만찬의 의미는)

1. 그리스도의 단번속죄를 기념

• Christ is not offered up to His Father;
  그리스도가 성부 하나님께 바쳐지시는 것이 아니요,

• not any real sacrifice made at all, for remission of sins of the quick or dead;
  산 자(곧 죽을 자)와 죽은 자들의 죄를 사하는 실제적인 제사도 아닙니다.

• but only a commemoration of that one offering up of Himself, by Himself, upon the cross, once for all:
  단지 이것은 그리스도께서 십자가에 자신을 드린 것을 기념하기 위한 것입니다.

2. 하나님께 드리는 영적 찬양

• and a spiritual oblation of all possible praise unto God, for the same,
  그 일에 하나님께 찬송하는 영적인 봉헌일 뿐입니다.

3. 반복 제사 필요 없음 – 그리스도의 단번 속죄 완전성

• so that the popish sacrifice of the mass (as they call it) is most abominably injurious to Christ's only sacrifice,
  이런 점에서 천주교의 미사는 그리스도의 죽음의 공로를 대단히 혐오스럽게 변질시킵니다.

• the alone propitiation for all the sins of His elect.
  예수 그리스도의 단번속죄를 통해 그의 택하신 백성들의 모든 죄의 화목제물이 되셨습니다.
