시편 배경
“나의 기도하는 소리를 들으시고”
여기서 “기도”는 일반적인 기도가 아니라, 내면의 기도, 마음속으로 간절히 말하는 기도입니다.
시의 내용
시인은 하나님의 보호를 바라며 기도하고 있습니다 (1절).
“오 [하나님]이여, 나의 기도하는 소리를 들으시고”
이 기도는 일반적으로 사용되는 형식적인 기도가 아닙니다.
내면의 기도, 곧 마음속에서 울부짖는 간절한 기도입니다.
시인은 원수의 두려움 속에서 마음으로 하나님을 간절히 바라며 기도하고 있습니다.
원수들의 악함 (2~6절)
이들은 음모를 꾸미고 사람들을 선동하여 폭동을 일으킵니다.
자기의 혀를 마치 칼을 갈듯이 갈고, 독한 말들을 활처럼 쏘아댑니다.
악한 행위를 하는 데 있어서 서로를 격려합니다.
올가미를 설치하고 “누가 이것을 보리요?”라고 말합니다.
이들은 불법한 행위를 함께 연구합니다.
시인은 이들을 향해 “그들 각 사람의 속생각과 마음이 깊도다”라고 말합니다.
이는 ‘지혜롭다’는 의미가 아니라, 그 마음이 교묘하고 꾀가 많으며, 때로는 사악한 의도를 감추고 있다는 뜻입니다.
부메랑이 된 그들의 화살 (7~8절)
“[하나님]께서 화살로 그들을 쏘시리니…”
하나님께서 그들에게 화살을 쏘십니다.
“자기들의 혀로 하여금 자기들을 덮치게 하리니…”
그 화살은 그들이 의인을 향해 쏘았던 자기 혀의 말, 즉 그들의 독한 말이었습니다.
결국, 그들의 말이 그들을 덮치는 부메랑이 됩니다.
하나님의 행하심을 본 사람들의 반응 (9~10절)
이 일은 모든 사람에게 하나님의 행하신 일을 분명히 드러냅니다.
사람들은 하나님의 행하신 일을 부지런히 살피고,
의로운 자들은 하나님을 신뢰하며 그분을 자랑합니다.
묵상
악한 계략을 짜고, 사람들을 선동하며
악한 말들을 쏟아내고, 감정을 격동시켜
그들이 친 올가미에 스스로 빠지게 하는 것은
참으로 기가 막힌 계략이며, 인간의 머리에서 나올 수 있는 최고의 책략입니다.
그러나 이 놀라운 계획조차
하나님 앞에서는 아무 힘이 없습니다.
하나님은 그들의 악한 생각을 아시고,
그들이 그토록 갈고 닦아 내뱉은 말들로 오히려 그들을 심판하십니다.
결론과 적용
오늘 우리는 이 시편을 통해 깊은 위로를 받습니다.
악한 말들로 공격당할 때, 그 상처를 하나님께 들고 나가야 합니다.
시인처럼 마음속으로 울부짖으며 기도해야 하겠습니다.

"Hear my voice in my complaint, O God..."
The "prayer" mentioned here is not an ordinary, outward prayer, but a deep, inward cry—a heartfelt, silent plea rising from within.
Content of the Psalm
The psalmist prays for God's protection (verse 1).
“Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint…”
This is not a typical, formal prayer.
It is a prayer from the depths of the heart, a cry uttered silently within.
In the fear of his enemies, the psalmist earnestly looks to God with a desperate heart.
The Wickedness of the Enemies (verses 2–6)
- They conspire and incite people to rebellion.
- They sharpen their tongues like swords and shoot bitter words like arrows.
- They encourage one another in their evil actions.
- They lay traps and say, “Who will see them?”
- They plot injustice together and carefully plan wicked schemes.
- The psalmist says of them, “Each one's inward thought and heart is deep.”
This does not mean they are wise, but rather that their hearts are cunning, full of deceit, and often hide evil intentions.
Their Arrows Become a Boomerang (verses 7–8)
“But God will shoot at them with an arrow…”
- God Himself takes action and shoots His arrow at them.
“They will be struck down by their own tongues…”
- The very words they spoke—meant to harm the righteous—return to harm themselves.
- Their words become a boomerang, bringing judgment upon them.
The Response to God's Deeds (verses 9–10)
- God's judgment becomes clearly visible to all people.
- People consider and ponder what God has done.
- The righteous trust in the Lord and rejoice, praising Him for His justice.
Meditation
Crafting evil schemes, inciting rebellion,
speaking malicious words, stirring up emotions,
and trapping others in cleverly laid snares—
these are truly diabolical strategies,
the very best human minds can devise.
However, even such intricate schemes
are powerless before God.
God sees through their evil intentions,
and uses the very words they sharpened like weapons to bring them down.
Conclusion and Application
Today, through this psalm, we receive comfort.
When we are attacked by malicious words,
let us bring our wounds before God.
Like the psalmist, let us cry out inwardly and pray earnestly from the heart.
