5~6절에서 시인은 하나님을 의지하는 모습으로 돌아옵니다.
시편 13편은 고통과 낙심의 순간에 우리는 어떻게 기도할 힘을 얻을수 있는 지를 배울 수 있습니다.

하나님과의 관계 속에서 절망
(악장에게 준 다윗의 시) 오 {주}여, 어느 때까지 나를 잊으려 하시나이까? 영원히 잊으려 하시나이까? 주의 얼굴을 어느 때까지 내게 숨기려 하시나이까?
“어느 때까지”, “잊으려”, “영원히”, “주의 얼굴을 숨기다”라는 단어들은 하나님을 찾는 간절함을 잘 보여주고 있습니다.
하나님은 어느 때는 당신을 숨기는 것처럼 느끼질 때가 있음을 배웁니다.
정말, 간절히 하나님을 찾고 있음에도 불구하고, 마치 잊는 것과 같이 느껴질 때가 있음을 배웁니다.
자신의 처지와 다른 사람 관계 속에서의 절망
내가 어느 때까지 날마다 마음속에서 슬퍼하며 내 혼 안에서 계획하리이까? 내 원수가 어느 때까지 내 위로 높여지리이까?
다윗은 하나님과의 교제가 끊어진 일로 슬퍼합니다.
마치 고아와 같이 자신의 모든 행로를 자신이 직접 계획하고 선택하고 결정해야 하는 일이 괴롭습니다.
원수들이 높아짐을 보아야 하는 현실이 싫습니다.
시인의 도움을 구하는 기도
오 {주} 내 [하나님]이여, 나를 깊이 살피시고 내 말을 들으소서. 나의 눈을 밝히소서. 내가 사망의 잠을 잘까 염려하며(3)
나의 원수가 말하기를, 내가 그를 쳐서 이겼다, 할까 염려하고 내가 흔들릴 때에 나를 괴롭히는 자들이 기뻐할까 염려하나이다(4)
“염려하다”는 원래는 “고려하다”와 “듣다”라는 두 단어입니다.
나의 사정을 “고려하고”, “들어주십시오” 이렇게 기도하고 있습니다.
시인의 선언
주님의 긍휼을 신뢰
그러나 내가 주의 긍휼을 신뢰하였사오니 내 마음이 주의 구원을 기뻐하리이다.
다윗은 “주의 긍휼”을 신뢰합니다.
“긍휼”은 “헤세드”, ‘언약적 긍휼’입니다.
자신은 하나님의 도움을 받을 자격이 없지만, 그럼에도 불구하고 그 백성에게 베푸시는 은혜요, 자비입니다.
다윗은 이 ‘헤세드’ 긍휼 안에서 주님을 신뢰합니다.
주님의 관대함을 신뢰
“주께서 나를 관대히 대하셨으므로 내가 그분을 위해 노래하리로다.”
“관대하다”의 의미는 젖을 찾는 아기에게 어머니가 젖을 주다는 의미입니다.
하나님은 다윗을 늘 “관대”하게 대해 주셨습니다.
갓난아기를 돌보는 어미의 심정으로 돌보아 주셨습니다.
주님이 마치 당신을 잊어버린 것처럼 느껴질 때,
주님이 마치 당신의 얼굴을 숨긴 것처럼 느껴질 때,
다윗은 기도의 시간에 주님의 “긍휼”과 “관대함”을 상기했습니다.
우리에게는 인내의 기도의 시간에 “그러나”을 외칠 수 있어야 합니다.
하나님을 긍휼과 관대함을 상기하며 끝까지 주님을 신뢰해야 합니다.
시편 13편의 다윗의 현실은 오늘날 성도들이 마주하는 현실입니다.
시편 13편은 우리에게 이 상황에서 어떤 믿음으로 세상을 이겨 나가야 하는 지를 가르쳐 주고 있습니다.

“(A Psalm of David.) How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?”
The words "How long," "forget," "for ever," "hide thy face" vividly express the earnestness of seeking God.
We learn that sometimes it feels like God is hiding from you.
Indeed, even when earnestly seeking God, there are times when it feels like being forgotten.
Despair in Personal Circumstances and Relationships with Others:
“How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?”
David mourns the absence of fellowship with God.
Like an orphan, the burden of having to plan, choose, and decide everything on his own is distressing.
The reality of enemies being exalted is unpleasant.
Prayer for Help from the Psalmist:
“Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.”
Psalmist pray that consider and listen to my circumstances.
Declaration of the Psalmist:
Trusting in the Lord's Mercy:
“But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation”.
David trusts in "thy mercy."
"Mercy" is "Hesed," 'covenantal mercy.'
He trusts in the Lord within this covenantal mercy.
Trusting in the Lord's Generosity:
"To be generous" means to give milk to a suckling baby.
God has always been "generous" to David.
He has nurtured him like a nursing mother nurtures a newborn.
When it feels like God has forgotten you,
When it feels like God has hidden His face from you,
David recalls the Lord's "mercy" and "generosity" in prayer.
We must be able to cry out "nevertheless" in prayer during times of patience.
We must trust in the Lord's mercy and generosity until the end.
David's reality in Psalm 13 is the reality facing saints today.
Psalm 13 teaches us what kind of faith we need to overcome the world in this situation.
