[웨스트민스터 신앙고백 31-1] 모임의 필요성과 제도화

 

1. 모임들의 필요성

 

For the better government 더 나은 교회 정치와

and further edification of the Church, 교회의 덕을 위하여

 

there ought to be such assemblies as are commonly called synods or councils. 흔히 노회나 공회로 불리는 모임들이 있어야 한다.

 

2. 모임의 제도화

 

and it belongeth to the overseers and other rulers of the particular churches, 교회의 감독자들이나 개교회의 치리자들(장로)은  

 

by virtue of their office, 그들의 직책과  

and the power which Christ hath given them 교회가 그들에게 준 권한으로

 

for edification and not for destruction, (교회를) 파괴하기 위한 것이 아닌 덕을 세우기 위해서

 

• to appoint such assemblies; 그러한 모임들을 지정하고
• and to convene together in them, 그들 안에서 모임을 결정하고

• as often as they shall judge it expedient for the good of the church. 교회의 유익을 위해서 필요하다고 인정하는 대로 자주 소집할 책임이 있다.
