1. 약혼 후에
Adultery or fornication committed after a contract, 약혼 후에 간통이나 간음이 행해져서
간음(fornication): 부부가 아닌 남녀가 성관계를 맺는 것을 말하며 강간이나 성매매, 미혼인 사람과 성관계도 포함된다.
being detected before marriage, 이 사실이 발견되면 결혼 전에
giveth just occasion to the innocent party to dissolve that contract. 순결한 쪽에서 파혼할 수 있는 권한이 주어진다.
2. 결혼 후에
In the case of adultery after marriage, 결혼 후에 간통의 경우에는
간통(Adultery): 배우자가 있는 사람과 그의 배우자가 아닌 이성(異性)이 자발적으로 성교하는 것을 말한다
it is lawful for the innocent party to sue out a divorce: 순결한 쪽에서 이혼 소송을 제기하고
and after the divorce, to marry another 이혼 후에는 다른 사람과 재혼도 가능한데
as if the offending party were dead. 이는 마치 간통한 상대방이 죽은 것과 같은 것으로 (간주되기 때문이다.)
